Price:   $ 3,350.00
Reviews
Sabre de Cuirassier de Troupe, Model An XIII. This sabre was the regulation weapon for French heavy cavalry of the line, identical to Fascicule 2, 1966, Christian Aries. The double fullered quill point blade is 38 inches and has two stamps near the hilt, an M with star above and a B; the backstrap is engraved, Mfture Imple du Klingenthal Juin 1810. The sabre has the original and complete wire bound leather grip with brass quillon, pommel, basket hilt with three radiating arms and an inventory number 341 on the knucklebow. The top edge of the quillon is stamped Versailles with two further indistinct stamps at one side. The heavy steel scabbard has two bracelets with sling rings, and a lyre shaped drag. Both the blade and scabbard have a light, even patina and no pitting. A throat mount attached by a side screw provides a tight entry for the weapon which is in outstanding condition.
