Private, The Parachute Regiment, Arnhem 1944.  He is carrying a wounded R.A.M.C. Officer over his shoulder in a fireman’s lift, a sten gun in his left hand.  The wounded officer has a heavily bandaged head; the Private wears the famous ‘Red Beret’.
