Gendarme d’Elite, c.1805.  A superb figure standing with his musket held by the trigger guard resting against his shoulder, pointing to his left.  The coat is dark blue with red turn backs and piping.  Distinctive buff cross belts with white edges are worn under white epaulettes; he also has a buff waistcoat and gauntlets.  Trousers are a lighter blue with knee high black boots and silver spurs.  The bearskin has a peak with a silver edge and chinstraps tied at the back, a red crown patch with white grenade.  A 75mm figure, signed on the wooden base: D.
